S.T. in Greek,
the initials of the founder & inspirer of the company.
S.T. has worked in the ceramics workshops of Thessaloniki to various ceramists since the 1980’s, first as an apprentice to several ceramics masters, later he collaborated with numerous European craftsmen.
Over the years he mastered the craft himself.
For decades he devoted himself to unlocking the secrets of clay and glazes.
He developed into a master craftsman who brings the most beautiful colors and shapes to life with homemade glazes and clay, all this at high temperatures. Spurred on by the passion of father S.T. the next generation is now also venturing into the craft. Besides being a masterful ceramist, S.T. proves a teacher of the highest order.Under his guidance, now we learn to make jewels out of river banks and thus the knowledge is not lost.This is how the idea arose to create the Ateliers Sigmataf, to give back this ancient craft to the world.
